A particular highlight for fans will be the opportunity to enjoy the famous Legends Trophy by Emirates once again, with matches being played from 31 May to 5 June!
2022: The Legends Trophy by Emirates is back!
From 31 May to 5 June, the much-loved Legends Trophy by Emirates is making a hotly-anticipated return to Roland-Garros.
The Legends Trophy, sponsored by Emirates, has been part of the tournament since 1998 on the men’s side of the draw and 2010 for the women, and is making a comeback after a two-year absence. It is always popular with the fans with its blend of sparkling play and on-court fun, and this year it will be played under a new format. For the first time ever, the women’s draw will feature the same number of players as the men’s, increasing from eight to 16 entrants. The big change for the men will be the fact that the draw will be open-age, making the 2022 competition all the more interesting, particularly with the quality of players in the line-up once again!
The Legends Trophy by Emirates has become synonymous with some of the biggest names in tennis! This year, a whole host of international stars are on board, with John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Mats Wilander, Martina Hingis and Mary Joe Fernandez all set to bring a smile to the legendary Paris clay. Goran Ivanisevic, who won the over-45s category in 2019 alongside Sergi Bruguera, will also be back to take part in this year’s open-age event.
There will also be plenty of French interest in the tournament, with Mansour Bahrami, Mary Pierce, Henri Leconte, Tatiana Golovin and Arnaud Clément all looking to make progress. 2019 champions Sébastien Grosjean and Michaël Llodra will also be back to defend the title they won three years ago.
